Home Resume Photoshop Websites Miscellanious Information Technology Academy

My name is Felipe Gacharná. I am currently a senior at Memorial High School. After high school graduation, I am hoping to attend UW-Madison with an intended major in Graphic Design, or start at UW-Eau Claire and transfer into Madison. I may look into a Marketing double-major so I have a more broad range of work in the future, but I’m still unsure. I obviously enjoy graphic design. I like using what I know to create something that looks good and that is useful to others.

As a student in the Information Technology Academy, I have been introduced and given knowledge to handle several programs, most of which are use in graphic design.
In the summer of 2007, I worked as an intern in a People-program Graphic Design workshop for Don Fleischman. I used my knowledge with Photoshop to help out the middle school students with their projects and any problems they ran across. I also helped them with Flash, making their animations, and with Dreamweaver, putting a website together.
In the summer of 2008, I did an unpaid internship at LSS L&S, Learning Support Services for the College of Letters and Science; I worked under Bruno Browning with Lisa Jansen, Doug Worsham, and David Macasaet. During my internship, I worked odd jobs at LSS, which I didn't mind. Some of them were fun and some were very different from things I'd done before. For example, helping Dennis—the VRC Director at LSS— record lectures from VHS tapes onto DVDs was something I'd never done before. I also helped LSS in redesigning the web banner for their new website. For the banner, I helped in making several different banners for the staff to pick from and in going around taking photographs for the banners. I also helped record an interview and create a new podcast for them, along with the introduction screens for the new podcast and an existing podcast. I also made a preliminary layout for a service they provide to student teachers who help out in the language department, called Lesson Share. I did different odd jobs for them, to help out however I could, but I mostly focused on the web banner for their website redesigning and on the podcast introduction screens.

As far as technology and programs go, I like to think I’m fairly apt and have a broad range of skills. I am very good with Photoshop but I have training and skills to at least work with different programs. I have knowledge with Sonic Foundry’s Acid, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash, Microsoft Works, including some minor knowledge with Visual Basic and Maxon Cinema 4D.

I am certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist in Microsoft Excell and Microsoft Word, along with IC3 Living Online and Computing Fundamentals certifications.

I am always open to new opportunities.
